FASA

Fiber Artists of Southern Arizona is a group of professional artists located in Tucson, Arizona. We are committed to creating and promoting textile and fiber art.

Drawing on our individual perspectives, we explore a variety of contemporary themes in our work:

  • The Natural World—Flora and Fauna.
  • Family and Heritage—universal relationships to personal stories.
  • Abstracts and Geometrics—exploring color, line, contrast, materials.
  • Social Commentary—investigating the state of human interaction.
  • The Figure, and Art to Wear.

We utilize a variety of methods and techniques:

  • Piecing, appliqué, collage, weaving, hand and machine stitching.
  • Surface design techniques include hand dyeing, rust dyeing, botanical printing, painting, and photography.
  • Embellishments include beading, embroidery, thread painting, and mixed media.

FASA has been exhibiting and selling our fiber art work since 2011.

Each of our artists has a page where she discusses her individual approach to fiber art and describes examples of her art.
